TEL AVIV WORLD GUIDE

Explore the old city

Jaffa, also known as Yafo, sits at the southern end of the Tel Aviv-Yafo coastline. Its old port and historic stone streets invite a slower walk, with galleries, places of worship and views across the Mediterranean.

Around the clock tower

Continue toward the clock tower and the nearby flea market, where shops, cafés and restaurants fill the surrounding streets. The old city has steps and uneven paving, so allow extra time and choose your route accordingly.

A walk through Jaffa

Begin near the Clock Tower, then wander toward the old city and its elevated viewpoints. Follow the lanes down to the port and take the waterfront path north if you want to continue toward central Tel Aviv.

  • Old Jaffa: stone lanes, galleries and views over the coastline.
  • Jaffa Port: a historic harbor with places to walk and eat.
  • Flea market: browse the streets around the market for antiques, second-hand finds and cafés.

Before you go

Jaffa’s old streets can be steep or uneven, with stairs in some areas. Comfortable shoes help, and visitors with mobility needs may want to plan a step-free route in advance. Shop and restaurant hours vary, especially around holidays.
